RESIDENTS interested in 3D printing are invited to a free event at Leigh Hackspace tomorrow, Friday.

Make:Shift:Do aims to teach people about creating 3D prints and using digital fabrication techniques.

Leigh Hackspace founder Marcus Baw will talk participants through a beginner's guide to 3D printing.

Additional talks on modelling and scanning will be available in due course.

Leigh Hackspace at The Cotton Mill on Mather Lane will also host a 3D printing open day on Saturday.

Visitors will be able to check out a variety of 3D printers from MakerBot and Ultimaker, including the new MakerBot 5.

Both events will run from 2pm to 5pm.
