A FUNDRAISING group is appealing for residents to donate old pairs of glasses to help people in poverty stricken countries.
Leigh Lions is urging them to take part in a national campaign for spectacles to be recycled to help people with poor eyesight living in India, the Philippines and Africa.
Leigh Lions' Jennifer Curry said: “We have already collected a lot of glasses but I am hoping that even more people can support us and help people less fortunate.
“We have received thousands from Specsavers in Leigh, who have been wonderful."
Old glasses can be handed into Specsavers on Bradshawgate, Leigh, as well as Future Vision Opticians inside Tesco Extra, Spinning Jenny Way.
