IN a wash out weekend for the club very few reportable games were played.
Leigh Genesis U21s met Ramsbottom United for the second week running this time competing in the LFA U21 County Cup.
In very wet and cold conditions Genesis started off well despite huge disruptions to their game plan. Chances were again created and again thwarted and the visitors capitalized by punishing Genesis to take into the interval a 2-0 lead.
From the restart Genesis created three golden chances to score within the first five minutes and eventually took one through Josh Whyte. Further chances followed before defensive mistakes began to take their toll and Genesis found themselves well behind at 5-1 down.
Kaiden Stanistreet pulled a goal back but it was too little too late and Ramsbottom eventually won the game 7-2.
Very much a case of back to the drawing board for Genesis.
