THE Leigh Lions Club has donated £1,000 to a shelter for homeless people.
Now based on Etherstone Street in Leigh, the Atherton and Leigh Shelter for HoPe has been providing emergency accommodation for people referred to it by professional care and homeless agencies for the past three winters.
The money has been spent on a washing machine, bedding and other essential items for the shelter.
The Leigh Lions Club was formed in December 1993 and undertakes voluntary work and fundraising for needy causes..
