NEW mums and their babies will benefit from a golf society's £2,070 donation.
The South Lancashire Area Golf Society has given the money to the Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust's Three Wishes Charity for use on the neonatal unit at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary.
It will be used to buy a new incubator and furnish a private family room on the unit at the Wigan hospital.
The society heard about the work done at the neonatal department from one of its sisters, Allison Kurfurst.
She said: "We are overwhelmed by the society's generosity.
"The money will help us create a homely space for parents who are sometimes spending weeks or months visiting their babies who are poorly.
"It is not an easy thing that these parents have to go through and to have a quiet place to go for break and a complimentary hot drink can really make the world of difference to them.”
