A SEVEN-year-old girl will be taking part in a modelling competition on Saturday after being selected ahead of thousands of entrants.

Esmé Rose Hardie, of Thornton Close, Lowton, is one of 15 children to have been chosen to compete in the LMI Manchester Spring Model Journey's tiny category for five to seven-year-olds.

Held at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate Hotel, the judging panel will include TV stars from The Real Housewives of Cheshire.

More than 2,500 children, teenagers and young adults applied for the competition by sending in pictures of themselves to LMI Manchester.

Esmé Rose's mum Katie said: "She has always loved having her photo taken and has been interested in modelling for a while.”

The St Catherine's Catholic Primary School pupil is already signed up to Warrington-based modelling agency Eurokids Ltd.

Saturday's competition winners will be decided via a combination of online public votes and judges' scoring.
