A TENNIS club has had its courts completely resurfaced in time for the start of the new season.

The three synthetic grass carpet courts at Tyldesley Tennis Club have been relaid for the first time in 25 years and new fencing has been installed.

The £55,000 project at the Wolford Drive club took three weeks to complete.

It was paid for via a £40,000 grant from Viridor Credits Environmental Company, loans from the Lancashire Lawn Tennis Association and Bolton Sports Federation Tennis League and a grant from Wigan Council, together with the club’s own funds.

The club is continuing to run parent and child coaching courses.

Enquiries for coaching and membership should be made to Dr John Turner on 0161 790 5212 or via e-mail at johnturner98@virginmedia.com.
