A SHOWCASE of beautifully decorated gardens has been organised for green-fingered residents to admire.

The Leigh Open Gardens Day will see four private gardens in Pennington opened up to the public.

Organised by the Rotary Club of Leigh, the fundraising event from 1pm to 5pm on Sunday, June 11, will include plant stalls, live music and afternoon tea.

Club president David Jones said: “We are aiming to repeat the success of our event in 2015 when we raised £2,500 for charitable causes and organisations, but it is not just about raising funds.

“Lots of people commented last time on how much they had enjoyed the occasion.

“This is an event with a real community spirit, lots of fun and a chance to meet up with friends and neighbours.”

Programmes for the event cost £5, which includes entry for two people, and can be bought on the day at the end of Beech Grove, Leigh.

They are also available in advance from shops on Chestnut Drive South and the Julie's Perfumes and Cosmetics stall at Leigh Market Hall.

The event is being supported by Bents Home and Garden.
