A MAN has been found guilty of assaulting two females on the same day.

Anthony Warhurst, of Knowsley Street, Leigh, denied committing the attacks on January 17.

But Wigan and Leigh Magistrates’ Court convicted the 51-year-old of the offences following a trial on Tuesday.

Warhurst was given a four-month curfew order with electronic monitoring and has to adhere to a rehabilitation activity requirement.

He was also ordered to pay £200 compensation, an £85 victim surcharge and £240 court costs.

Benjamin Anderton, of Moorgate Drive, Tyldesley, was also given a community order.

The 22-year-old admitted causing £550 damage to a wall on May 13 and being caught in possession of a quantity of cannabis the following day.

Anderton committed the offences while subject to a community order for possessing cannabis with intent to supply it to someone else.

His new community order requires him to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work and adhere to a rehabilitation activity.

He also has to pay an £85 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

A warrant was issued for the arrest of Gary Ashcroft after he failed to appear at the court in answer to bail.

The 41-year-old, of Heath Street, Golborne, has been charged with assaulting a police constable in the execution of his duty.

He is also accused of assaulting a woman and damaging her mobile phone.
