A MUM-of-three is delighted to have been nominated for a north west business award for the second year in a row.

Amy Cotter, of Sandy Lane, Lowton, was shortlisted for the 2016 Enterprise Vision Awards Inspirational Woman of the Year gong for her work at multi-sensory business Sensoriel CIC.

Having narrowly missed out on the award, the 31-year-old is hoping to go one better this year.

She said: “Last year I made it to the final six at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool.

"It was great to be a part of the event and to see so many amazing people there on the night.

“I am overwhelmed to be nominated for the Inspirational Woman of the Year award again."

Set up by Amy in 2011, Sensoriel CIC provides a range of services and interventions for adults and children who have long-term conditions such as dementia, autism, mental health problems and acute brain injuries.

It has won two Enterprise Vision Awards in the past, including the Charity of the Year gong last year.

More than £850 was raised for Ince-based Sensoriel CIC at last year's awards ceremony in Blackpool.

To be there again on September 29 Amy has to impress in an interview and in front of a judging panel to be selected as a finalist.

She said: "Since the launch of the business we have gone from strength and have been able to connect with more and more groups of people.

“I love the difference we are making to people on a daily basis.

"It is an honour to be part of people’s journeys when we work with them.

“I do my job because I love doing it, and the fact I inspire people is mind-blowing."

The Enterprise Vision Awards recognise women in business from across the north west.
