A MAN is fighting for his life after being attacked outside a nightclub yesterday, Monday.

Greater Manchester Police say he fell backwards and hit his head on the floor following the assault and is in a critical condition in hospital.

They are hunting the man who carried out the attack outside the Bar Est 1899 club on Railway Road in Leigh at around 5.30am.

Detectives believe the two men were removed from the club following an argument and the attack occurred soon after.

The offender then got into a silver car, which made off towards Leigh town centre.

Detective sergeant Lee Shaw said: “This was a forceful attack which has left the victim in a critical condition.

“We are urging people who may have witnessed the attack outside the nightclub, the argument inside or indeed anyone with any information about this incident at all to come forward and speak to us.”

The offender is described as white and around 20 years old and 6ft tall.

He has mousey brown hair in a quiff and was wearing a white shirt with rolled-up sleeves and dark jeans and shoes.

Anyone with information about the assault should contact police on 0161 856 1828 or 101, quoting incident reference number 537 of May 29.
