THE first six months of 2017 have been a whirlwind for dad and daughter duo Martin and Faye Gregory-Lambert.

But while their Britain's Got Talent journey has come to an end, Faye, 11, and her 44-year-old dad Martin have vowed to continue singing.

"We never expected to get as far as we did," said Martin, from Lowton.

"Singing is my job and I know Faye wants to carry on, but there is only so much she can do as she is still at school."

The singing double act performed in the TV talent show's live semi-finals on Wednesday.

They sung Somewhere from West Side Story in front of celebrity judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams, a packed audience which included loved ones who had travelled to show their support and millions watching at home.

Ahead of the performance Faye described the opportunity to sing with her dad on the ITV series as a ‘dream come true’.

Judge Amanda Holden said the duo ‘raised the roof’ on Wednesday after ‘finding their feet towards the end’ of the song.

While veteran judge Simon Cowell was unsure about the song choice, he added that the double act had the ‘charming factor’.

But Faye and Martin missed out on a spot in tonight's final following a public vote.

After one-and-a-half million votes, nine-year-old child comic Ned Woodman and 32-year-old pianist Tokio Myers were sent through to the live final.

"I think we did the song justice and I don't think we could have performed it any better," said proud dad Martin, who works on the pubs and clubs circuit.

"It was a great experience and it will be lovely for Faye to look back on.

"The day was over too quickly as you are being pulled here and there.

"You don't get a chance to breathe."
