A MAN claims he had to change his suit on Wednesday morning after being forced to clear six wheelie bins from the middle of a road on his way to work.

Darryl Flannery says bin men had left them in the worst possible place as he tried to drive from his house on Pond Street in Lowton at 8.15am.

The 25-year-old claims he was blocked in and sullied his suit as he moved the bins out of the way and had to go back into his house to put a different one on.

Property developer Darryl said: “I am angry about having to get out of the car and shift them as it is not my job.

“For them to be just left in the road after the bin collection like they were is unacceptable.”

Paul Barton, Wigan Council’s assistant director for environmental services, said: “Feedback from residents in the area is that their bins are usually left neatly against the fence with a number saying this was the case on the morning in question.

“The area supervisor was called out following a complaint and dealt with the issue accordingly.”
