A TEENAGER faces a crown court trial after being accused of carrying a machete and a charge of using or threatening unlawful violence towards other people.

Nathan Cadman, of Grasmere Avenue, Hindley, allegedly committed the offences in the town on May 16.

The 19-year-old appeared before Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

His trial is due to be held at Bolton Crown Court on July 12.

James Irvine, of Ennerdale Road, Hindley, was ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work after admitting stealing bricks work £100 in the town on May 26.

On top of the community order the 32-year-old has to pay £100 court costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Cameron Smith, of Wood Dagger Close, Hindley caused £300 damage to a car in the town on May 25.

The 19-year-old pleaded guilty to the criminal damage charge and was ordered to pay £300 compensation.

He was also fined £120 and has to pay £85 court costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Jon Holleron, of Woodford Street, Hindley, admitted a breach of the peace charge.

The behaviour offence was committed in the town on Tuesday.

The 36-year-old was bound over to keep the peace for 12 months in the sum of £50.
