A CURRY night served up a treat for male churchgoers.

They enjoyed a meal at Tamarind Table Indian Restaurant in Atherton on Tuesday night and discussed how faith can help men cope with struggles in life and culture.

There will be another curry night for men who attend churches in and around Atherton is three months' time.

The Rev Jonathan Moores, of St Michael and All Angels' Church in Howe Bridge, said: “We have noticed there are not that many blokes who attend our services, so this event gives them the chance to get together to stimulate spiritual discussion.

“It is a night which is based around friendship and inspiration around food.”

Before the next curry night on September 19, a Summer Lovin' event will be held at Atherton St George's Church from 7.30pm on Friday, July 14.

There will be live music from 1950s and 60s singer Amy Corcoran as well as garden games, raffles and a barbecue.

Refreshments will be available and the event is open to all.
