RESIDENTS are being asked for their views on the borough’s highways and transport services, from the condition of roads and footpaths to the quality of cycling facilities.
Wigan Council is one of 112 local authorities taking part in the National Highways and Transport survey that will ask a sample of households for their views.
The questionnaire has been sent randomly to at least 3,300 residents and the council is encouraging them to complete it.
Residents who receive the questionnaire can complete the survey online if they prefer.
A short web link is printed on the front of the questionnaire and they will be required to enter a code before filling it in.
The questionnaire gives residents the opportunity to say which services they think the council should prioritise and improve.
The results will enable the council to find out what residents think about the important services.
Through The Deal for the Future, a key ambition for the council is to improve connectivity across the borough.
Cllr Kevin Anderson, cabinet member for the environment, said: “Earlier this year we were ranked as having the best roads in the country and we have put a lot of hard work into maintaining our highways.
“We want our residents and motorists to continue having enjoyable journeys so we would encourage people to complete the survey so we can understand customer views better and improve the network where it is necessary and resources allow.”
