FROM fighting fire to helping animals, designing logos to flying planes, children experienced the working world during a careers day at their school.
Pupils as young as four at St Catherine's Catholic Primary School in Lowton were visited by a range of professionals who gave them a flavour of their working days.
During the event children learned about first aid from a visiting nurse and hospitality from a hotel manager, and with help from a pilot they imagined themselves flying their own aeroplane.
The emergency services were also on hand, with a firefighter and police officer sharing their experiences, and pupils were given the chance to try out a panda car for size.
Careers in the creative industries were explored at a graphic design workshop where the youngsters created logos and posters, and there were even two canine visitors who accompanied a vet.
Sue Leck, head teacher of the school on Cranham Avenue, said: “The children really enjoyed the careers day, especially the fact they got really hands-on experience of each of the various kinds of jobs.
“It was a wonderful and inspiring day, and we would really like to thank all our visitors for coming in and sharing an insight into their careers.”
