ASTLEY & Tyldesley riders have been enjoying an extremely busy programme of cycle speedway racing recently.

Last weekend A&T made a trip to Scotland and came away with four wins in Northern League Division 2 and three matches at Glasgow and Fife.

A&T beat Glasgow 82-68 in a Division 2 match, followed by a 57-23 win in the Division 3 match. It rained all day and a change of jerseys

was necessary for the trip to Dunfermline to take on Fife. A&T rode to a comfortable 81-67 win in the Division 2 match and took a whitewash

40-0 win in the Division 3 match.

A&T kept up their challenge in all three divisions of the Northern League, with wins in all three matches at Sheffield on Sunday. Veteran Paul Graham

raced unbeaten as A&T took a 99-80 win in the Division 1 match, with Marcin Jakubiak dropping just one point in his six rides. This keeps A&T level

with Stockport on match points, at the top of the table. The Division 2 match was closer, but A&T took a 78-71 win to remain in 2nd place and

keep the pressure on leaders Bury, who were held to a draw by Stockport. A&T maintained their 100% record in Division 3, with a commanding 108-40 win

over 2nd placed Sheffield, with Aiden Green racing unbeaten.

A&T riders enjoyed great successes with a hat trick of wins in the Northern Individual Championship Finals at Stockport. First year rider Tom Morrissey

won the u-10 championship, ahead of Duncan Whalley and Aiden Green, as A&T riders made a clean sweep of the rostrum places.

They were followed by Emily Burgess taking the u-13 title and Max Evans winning the u-16 championship.

A&T were well represented in the 2nd national round of the British Youth & Junior League at East Park (Wolverhampton) on Saturday. John White stormed

to a brilliant win in the u-12 Grand Prix 'A' Final and 6 year old Aiden Green took a fine third place in the u-8 Grand Prix 'A' Final.

A&T took their fifth win of the Manchester League Division 2 series in Round 5 at Stockport on Wednesday. A&T amassed an impressive score of 77 points,

ahead of Stockport on 63 and Bury on 40. With one round remaining, A&T have clinched the Division 2 title for the fourth successive year. Reece Pollitt,

Emily Burgess and Tom Morrissey all raced unbeaten for Team Green. A&T took second place in the Division 1 match, ahead of Bury and Sheffield.

Reece Pollitt top scored for A&T, with three race wins and an exclusion. Final score was Stockport 64 Astley & Tyldesley 51 Bury 27 Sheffield 20.
