POLICE have released an e-fit of a man they want to speak to in connection with an attempted abduction of a 13-year-old girl.
She was walking through Westleigh Park in Leigh shortly before 9am on Sunday when she was grabbed by a man who approached her from behind.
The girl fought back and managed to get away from the man and run home to alert police.
Detective inspector Paul Rollinson, of Greater Manchester Police’s Wigan borough division, said: “This young girl showed incredible bravery in fighting off the man and running away to safety.
“We understand that the community is concerned, but rest assured we are doing all we can to identify the man responsible.
“If anybody recognises the man in the e-fit I urge them to please come forward.
“We have increased patrols in the area and anyone with any questions or concerns is encouraged to speak to our officers.”
