A MUM-of-three has been shortlisted for a north west business award for the second year on the spin.

Amy Cotter, of Sandy Lane, Lowton, has made the final eight after being nominated for the Enterprise Vision Awards Inspirational Woman of the Year gong for the work she does at her multi sensory business Sensoriel CIC.

Having narrowly missed out on the crown last year, the 31-year-old is hoping to go one step further this time round and is urging people to vote for her.

Amy reached the final stage of the competition after impressing a panel of judges with a five-minute presentation about Sensoriel CIC before answering questions about the business.

A public vote will now decide the winner, who will be announced at an awards ceremony at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool on Friday, September 29.

Amy said: "Since the public vote opened I have already had support from strangers, which is so encouraging and will hopefully spread the word so we can reach more people and make even more of a difference at Sensoriel CIC.

“I love the difference we are making to people on a daily basis.

“And it is overwhelming to know that other people can see and support what I am trying to achieve."

Amy set up the company in 2011 with it providing a range of services and interventions for adults and children who have long-term conditions such as dementia, autism, mental health problems and acute brain injuries.

Now based in Ince, it has won two Enterprise Vision Awards in the past, including the Charity of the Year gong last year.

More than £850 was raised for Sensoriel CIC at last year's awards ceremony in Blackpool.

Amy added: “Without the support of my family and friends I would not be able to do what I do.”

The EVAs is now in its seventh year and celebrates the achievements of women in business across 15 categories.
