AN author is hoping to ‘inspire’ more people to explore the wonders of the world we live in after releasing the final instalment of her Just Us Two series of travel books.

Grandmother-of-four Christine Prescott, from Leigh, who writes under the pseudonym of Rosalie Marsh, has been travelling around the globe with her husband of 53 years Allen, 75, for the four-part series.

The concluding part Island Interludes – Just Us Two Escape to the Sun charts their journeys from the Azores to Madeira and the Canary Islands.

Former St Joseph's Catholic Primary School pupil Christine, 73, said: “Writing has been very therapeutic for me.

“I also want to inspire others to push their boundaries and explore that little bit further.

“I get absorbed and leave the outside world behind as I get lost in crafting the story that I wish to share.”

Christine discovered her passion for writing during her previous career in work-based learning.

She has since won the travel and recreational category at the 2010 International Book Awards and was a travel genre finalist in the 2009 USA Book News Awards for her early Just Us Two books.

She also released a fiction book in 2013 called Oranges: A Journey based on her travels in Spain.
