I HAVE complained to the council because my mum has had her last normal home delivery of library books.

From what I have heard it appears the library service finished in its present format last Friday.

After speaking on the phone to the council there have been no volunteers found to help with the delivery of books in the future, and I have been told police checks will not be carried out on people who put their names forward for a new proposed replacement service.

Ultimately the change will be detrimental to many people’s mental health as well as leaving already vulnerable people open to anxiety, worry and possible exploitation.

I am disgusted with the council’s lack of concern just to save money.
