TYLDESLEY secured their first bonus win of the season, in what was a frustrating game overall, but never the less this was a deserved five points.

Bongs started on top and recorded the first points after just five minutes.

A Widnes line was brilliantly stolen by Crampton, which resulted in good yards being made.

Conor Norton took it on before supplying a great Ball for Danny Berrisford, who touched down in the corner. Conversion missed.

Tyldesley continued to dominated, via some decent attacking plays, but it was from a good defensive stint, that a second try was recorded for the hosts, after Mark Dickinson intercepted a loose pass, and touched down under the posts, from twenty meters out.

Tom Maloney added the extra two.

By the twenty third minute Bongs had stretched their lead even further, after a good catch and drive pushed the visitors back over their own line, gifting Damien Twizell an easy five pointer.

Widnes started to get into the game and probably had the better of the last ten, which had them touch down for a seven point try, after some good passages of play. Half time 17 – 7

Bongs missed an early penalty attempt then found themselves down too fourteen, after Maloney received a yellow, nine minutes in to the second forty.

However, despite the numerical disadvantage, Tyldesley kept plugging away and added another ten points too their tally. The first three coming from a penalty after Paul Martin dissected the posts.

Within a minute of the successful penalty, Bongs recorded a forth bonus point try after superb pressure from Matt Soulsby, caused a mix up in the visitors defence, which had Dickinson pick up, fifteen meters out, before touching down for his second of the game, Martin converted.

With game just passing the hour mark and the hosts now holding a twenty point cushion, Widnes came back well and recoded their second seven point try, after good pick and drives, punched holes in the hosts defence.

After defending for a while, Tyldesley slowly moved up field via some good support play and kicks. A few good drives later, had the ball come out too Dickinson, a neat pass found Pulman in support, who touched down, conversion missed.

Widnes weren’t done and got a third try, which stepped up their belief and confidence, and although they finished on top, good defending, just denied them a bonus try.

Mom was Mark Dickinson.

Bongs are away to West Park on Saturday.
