A SELF-taught artist has become an online-sensation after sharing her work for the first time.

Walking into the flat where 62-year-old Vivienne Jones lives in Atherton, you’re greeted by a sea of colours and shapes - as more than 25 pieces of artwork cover the walls.

Vivienne, who has learning disabilities and health issues that affect her breathing, has huge ambitions and wants to share her work but is nervous about putting it in a gallery in case it gets stolen.

However, she got brave and shared her work online, which has now been shared more than 140 times on Facebook, 800 likes and hundreds of comments.

She is supported by Wigan Council with daily living tasks including shopping, cooking and cleaning, medication and medical appointments and going on activities.

Vivienne said: “I’ve wanted to be an artist since I was four-years-old. I went to Leigh College but apart from that I have just taught myself.

“I imagine things in my head and doodle first before I start making a new piece. I work on different pieces at the same time so it can take a few months for me to finish one.

“I want my work to be famous all over the world. I am nervous about putting them up anywhere though because I don’t want them to get stolen.

“I want everyone to see my work. I’d love to be as well-known as Van Gogh!”
