A CYCLIST was left with serious injuries after being hit by a car which failed to stop in Golborne.

A 48-year-man was taken to hospital after suffering major facial injuries and multiple fractures to his body after a car collided into him when he was on his Boardman road bike on Warrington Road at 10.30pm on Wednesday night (October 18).

The car did not stop after the crash and headed off in the direction of the A580 East Lancashire Road with no description provided to Greater Manchester Police about the car and driver.

Police Constable Jonathan McColl of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “To leave a man in the road with serious injuries and then flee the scene is disgraceful.

“Unfortunately, we don’t have a description of the car but I would appeal to anyone who was driving in the area and has dash-cam footage to come forward.”
