A SECURITY product manufacturer which has spread its wings across the world is celebrating its 10th birthday.

ATG Access is now 30 times bigger than it was when it opened in St Helens a decade ago.

The manufacturer of bollards, road blockers and vehicle barrier systems has worked on projects in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

It completed £7 million worth of projects in the Persian Gulf last year, including at Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 3.

Chief executive Glenn Cooper said: “The world has enormous respect for British design and ingenuity. We should take great pride in our abilities and look at how we can use these skills to grow our businesses and make the world a better and safer place.

“We hope our example can be an inspiration for other UK firms that have world-leading products and solutions.”

The company manufactures security products at five sites across the globe for 42 countries.

ATG has recently developed a road block system which can withstand the force of a 2,500kg vehicle travelling at 30mph.

Mr Cooper added: “By tackling truly global concerns and needs with innovative new products like Surface Guard we hope to continue our growth in export markets in years to come.”

The company has also been involved in projects at the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam and Los Angeles International Airport.
