A PERSON was rescued from the scene of a car crash after being cut out of the roof from one of the vehicles.

The casualty was lifted out of the vehicle at Henry Street around 4am in Tyldesley on Monday.

Two fire engines and a technical response unit were sent to the road traffic collision with crews using clan lukas cutting equipment, lighting and a longboard to remove the roof of the car before lifting the person to safety.

Firefighters were on the scene for around an hour.
