A NEW fabric shop will be opening at the same location in Atherton that a well-liked one closed more than a year ago.

Hey Ho Let's Sew will be welcoming customers through its doors at Church Street on Monday at 10am at the same location as the old Joan Weir Fabrics shop used to be based.

The shop closed last year when Joan died after being open for 27 years.

Mum-of-two Rachael Flaszczak, co-owner with Joanne Hazeldine, said: "I am really excited about the new shop.

"I always used to love going to Joan's shop and it was very popular in the town.

"When I got in touch with Joan's husband Mark, who owns the building, he agreed it was a great idea to reopen it.

"He and his family have been very supportive in helping me and Joanne with the preparations which we are very grateful for.

"Since we started decorated there have been lots of people trying to come in and saying how they cannot wait for it to be opened."

Rachael, 40, also owns The Snug cafe on Market Street, with the new fabric shop promoting the crafting workshops that take place there.

Joanne owns Jo's Bows in the town.

Hey Ho Let's Sew will be open Mondays to Saturdays from 10am to 4pm and closed on Sundays.

Rachael and Joanne are also taking part in a charity sleepout with more than 40 people on Saturday in aid of Atherton and Leigh Shelter for HoPe.
