A DESSERT and ice cream parlour is due to open its doors – delivering a boost to St Helens town centre.

Kaspa’s will offer a menu of sweet treats, ranging from waffles and crepes to soda floats. The national chain is set to launch at Bridge Street, in the former British Heart Foundation Furniture and Electrical store, on Thursday (November 16).

The American diner styled venue has created 30 jobs and offers a huge ice cream selection, a selection of cakes, sundaes, waffles, crepes, soda floats and hot beverages.

Its arrival has been welcomed by St Helens Council, which is keen to see new food and drink venues set up in the town centre.

Regeneration leaders are keen to improve the leisure offer and attract more families to socialise.

Kaspas will offer seating for around 160 guests and an additional area which can be booked for events and parties.

Manager Mark Bryan said: “We are really excited to open in St Helens.

“It is a good place to be especially with new retail opportunities opening very soon. We are excited to come to the town.

“We truly believe there is something here for everyone, our main audience may be children and young adults but we have traditional things as well and many things that would attract adult taste buds.

“We have a venue in Liverpool but we are excited to offer separated space in our St Helens branch for private parties – which will have to be pre booked but should offer lots of fun.”

The 425 square foot store plans to open from 11am to 11pm every day.
