A CHARITY shop has launched an appeal for people to donate items to help people affected by brain injuries.

The Headway store on Bradshawgate in Leigh is asking people to provide clothes, household goods, toys, games as well as other items in which they can sell to raise money for people with brain injuries and families.

Shop manager Jan Naylor said: "We are in need of help from good-spirited local residents who want to make a difference.

"As we rely entirely upon donations, community support is more important than ever to help us continue delivering vital frontline services to brain injury survivors and their families.

"With Christmas around the corner why not clear out some cupboard space to make room for new gifts?

"Your donations will be helping people directly affected by brain injury to rebuild their lives.

“The effects of brain injury can be devastating and some people have to start from scratch, relearning the most basic of life skills such as walking and talking.

"But not enough people know about brain injury and the work Headway does to help those affected."

Gift Aid can also be added to taxpayers donations which will raise 25 per cent more for each item sold.
