A LARGE wooden sculpture at a canal is believed to have been set on fire 'deliberately' on Saturday night.
Two fire crews were called to Plank Lane in Leigh at the Leeds and Liverpool around 10.45pm where they used a portable pump, a jet and an extension ladder to extinguish the blaze.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate."
Firefighters were on the scene for around one hour and 50 minutes.
