A SHOPLIFTER has been jailed for eight months after breaching a previous order imposed on him last year.
Philip Atkinson, of Westwell Street, Leigh, admitted to entering shops in Leigh town centre such as Wilko, Tesco and Sainsburys which broke a criminal behaviour order made against him in November 2016.
The 38-year-old also admitted to stealing alcohol, razor blades and meat between September 2 and November 18.
When Atkinson was sentenced at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court last Wednesday, he was handed a new two-year order which bans him from entering the stores he stole from as well as any shops in the town centre and Parsonage Retail Park.
