A HOMEBUILDER is set to appear in court faced with charges relating to the demolition of a listed building.
McCauls Homes Ltd, based at The Haybarn in Astley, has been accused of damaging Chaddock Hall in Mosley Common "in a manner which affected the character of a building of special architectural or historical interest" in work it has carried out at the site.
The company has allegedly demolished the whole building apart from one wall to the height of its ground floor windows.
McCauls has also been accused of breaching two other conditions in its work.
The case will be heard at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, February 20.
