BILLINGE jumped to fifth in the Cheshire League Premier Division table with a hard-fought 1-0 win at Altrincham reserves.
Gaz Kenny’s towering header just before the half-hour mark won the game for the Storks as he rose to meet Steve Wolhuter’s free kick.
The result means Billinge have now won back-to-back league games as they bid for a top-four finish.
Storks manager Geoff Parr says each of his players “played their part” in the result.
“It was a real team performance from all 14 players,” he said.
“Everybody played their part, we defended superbly and Gaz Kenny got a great goal to win it.
“This sets us up nicely for our quarter-final cup tie at home to Ashton Town next week.”
As Parr mentioned, Billinge host Ashton Town in the Premier Division Challenge Cup on Saturday, kick off 2pm.
