A COMEDY charting the fortunes of five women who inherit a run-down theatre is set to take centre stage.

Tyldesley Little Theatre's latest play Curtain Up will be shown at its Lemon Street base from five consecutive nights from Tuesday, March 20.

It will tell the stories of five women who inherit equal shares in a dilapidated theatre and plan to bring it back to life again.

Cat Hughes will play the leading role of the enthusiastic Theresa, who has expresses high hopes to improve the theatre.

Her mother Pam, played by Joan Rogers, does not want anything to do with the place and her mood does not improve when her deceased ex-husbands lover Jackie, played by Gemma Manfredi, arrives.

With Theresa's comical grandmother Betty, played by Margaret Speakes, and her late father’s secretary Sharon, played by Andrea Peters, the women try various fundraising schemes to generate money for the theatre.
