KIND-hearted school pupils invited volunteers and veterans of an armed forces charity to a special assembly on Wednesday.
Children from Gilded Hollins Community Primary School in Leigh welcomed Shoulder to Soldier members and its mascot, 13-stone Newfoundland dog Monty, to present them with a cheque for £202 which was raised through a collection at one if its nativity plays last year.
The charity's members then explained how it would spend the money to help the armed forces community.
Year Six pupil Ethan Stansfield was also gifted a certificate from Shoulder to Soldier after he was part of a team that climbed the Yorkshire Three Peaks last August which generated £690 for the charity.
