A MAN who stole three charity boxes in three days has been jailed for 24 weeks.
Neil Shaw, of Abbey Lane, Leigh, took a charity box from BJ's Bingo on Ellesmere Street on Monday, March 5.
Two days later, he made off with one box each from Vee and L Convenience Store and JVS Convenience Limited, both on Holden Road.
The 32-year-old was also found guilty of stealing a mobile phone in Wigan to the value of £900 on January 22.
Shaw, who appeared at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, was handed a six-week consecutive sentence for each of the four offences, which he pleaded guilty to committing.
He was also ordered to pay a victim services surcharge fee of £115.
