A WOMAN has taken her love of crafting to the next level with the opening of her first shop.
Janet Sargent, from Atherton, is welcoming customers through the doors of Moontree Crafts and Gems, a store which sells handmade crafting items and jewellery.
The shop is located on Tyldesley Road opposite the Atherton Arms pub.
Mum-of-one Janet, 56, said: “I have enjoying collecting gemstones for a long time and also been interested in crafting too. It is my favourite hobby.
“I was actually having some of my work stocked at Chic Ribbon and Scroll in Tyldesley which has recently opened and the owners have inspired me to set up my own shop.
“My sister Patricia has also been very important in helping me to do it. She has always been creative and someone I have learnt from over the years.”
Janet has also started fostering children with her husband Harold in the last year.
The former Hesketh Fletcher CE High School pupil added: “Moving forward I would love to start crafting and jewellery classes for young children or anyone who feels they would like to try something new.”
