A HIGH school principal has left her role as principal after five years.
Letters have been sent to Atherton Community School pupils' parents to inform them that Mrs Lynn Burton has "decided to move on".
Mrs Burton's replacement will be Burnley High School head teacher Miss Vicky Povey, who will take up the position of executive head teacher.
The Hamilton Street school, which was given a rating of "requires improvement" in its latest Ofsted report in March, is part of Chapel Street Community Schools Trust.
In the letter, James Royal, CEO of Chapel Street Community Schools Trust, said: "After serving this community with passion and commitment in the last five years, Mrs Burton has decided to move on from her role as principal.
"The trust would like to thank her sincerely for her incredible hard work and dedication to this fabulous school and wish her well for the future."
Mr Royal has asked parents to contact the school office if they any more queries on the issue.
