A COUPLE are set to open an upmarket gift shop in Leigh town centre.
Martina and Jamie Tudor, from Leigh, will welcome customers in their first store on Bradshawgate on Tuesday, May 1.
The store, which will be called M and J Unique Retail, will sell a range of items such as ornaments, sculptures and toys.
Former Bedford High School pupil Martina, 24, said: “We are both very excited for the shop opening.
“All our products will be made by UK or fairtrade companies and we will be including stock made by local people.
“We are also hoping to work with artists so we can help them get their work on the shelves.”
The couple, who used to have a business unit in Hindley, have two children.
The shop will be open Mondays to Saturdays from 9am to 5pm and will offer a payment scheme called layaweek which allows people to pay for items over a period of time.
