A RESTAURANT and bar in Leigh is taking people back in time.

Retro Memories, on Chapel Street, includes range of themes from the 1940s up to the 1980s with furniture, decorations and pictures put in place.

Owner Connie Ellison will run the business with her husband Calvin.

Mum-of-five Connie, 47, said: “Calvin and I wanted a place where people could come for a drink or have something to eat and listen to music that brings back memories.

“We like all the music and fashion throughout the decades so decided to do each of the rooms with different themes.

"It is like a museum for people.”

One of the rooms is named Nana Violet’s Tea Rooms after Connie’s grandmother Violet Goodman, who she was close with before she died last year.

Connie added: “We have had a range of groups coming in so far and we have had a great reaction which has been nice to hear.”

Retro Memories is closed on Mondays and open from Tuesdays to Thursdays from 9am to 5:30pm.

It is welcoming customers from 9am to 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays as well as opening from 10am to 2.30pm on Sundays. It has plans to stay open until around 4pm for Sunday lunch when dinner reservations are able to be made from Sunday, June 3.
