A SOLICITOR is visiting Wigan and Leigh Hospice in Hindley every week to provide guidance to patients with life-limiting conditions.

Jill Rushton from Stephensons Solicitors LLP, which is based on Lord Street, is providing support at the Kildare Street hospice’s Oak Centre every Wednesday from 11am to 2.30pm.

She will be giving advice about wills, probate, powers of attorney and other matters.

Patients or registered Oak Centre users will be able to see Jill at the drop-in sessions.

Jill said: “When people get poorly it affects them in many ways and their families too.

"It it vital to think about these matters but people don’t always get around to it.”

The firm has also donated £250 for the hospice to buy an exercise bike and weights.

Oak Centre manager Jacqui White added: “When someone is diagnosed with a palliative illness they have so much to think about that sometimes these legal matters, although extremely important, are simply not dealt with.

"By having Jill here it gives our patients the chance to talk to someone with no pressure about these practical legal issues.

"Several patients have commented on how it’s really helped them and given them peace of mind.”
