A MAN is on a mission to raise awareness for testicular cancer.

Cawton Wright was diagnosed with the illness two years ago and was given treatment.

He completed a 244-mile cycle challenge from Southport to Amsterdam last year in three days to raise more than £10,000 for charity.

Cawton has received a donation of £500 from Persimmon Homes North West Community Champions scheme to support his efforts.

He said: “I want to make men more aware and less scared to talk about men’s issues and have been heavily involved in the OddBalls Foundation, which I will give the £500 donation to.

“I have also given talks to men and boys about the importance of checking themselves regularly.”

Cawton also took part in other events across the North West including the Wigan 50, Manchester to Blackpool and Manchester 100 rides.

He added: “I really just want to raise as much as I can and thank Persimmon Homes North West for its support.

“I also want to raise awareness as much as possible so that men feel comfortable talking about the issue and making sure they are fit and healthy.

“I also intend to ride to Amsterdam again this year to raise even more money for charity.”
