TWO drink drivers have been banned after being more than two times over the limit.

Anthony Connor, of Rugby Road, Leigh, recorded a breath sample of 97 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood after he had been driving on February 18. The legal limit is 35 milligrammes.

The 49-year-old has been disqualified from holding a licence for 12 months which may be reduced by 13 weeks if he completes a course before January 13, 2019.

He has also been fined £120, ordered to pay a victim services surcharge of £35 and court costs of £85.

Jana Maggdoskova, of Kensington Drive, Leigh, registered a breath sample of 95 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood when he was travelling on Ormskirk Road in Wigan on May 27.

The 30-year-old was banned from driving for two years which may be reduced by 24 weeks if he completes a course by October 27, 2019.

He has been given a fine of £300, forced a victim services surcharge fee of £30 and been ordered to pay court costs of £85.

Both defendants appeared at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
