LIONEL Richie rolled back the years last night, Saturday, with a performance that dazzled thousands at Leigh Sports Village who flocked to see him.
The pop superstar kept the audience dancing with a catalogue of classics including Hello, Stuck On You and Say You Say Me.
The Alabama singer, who has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide, also played songs from his days in the Commodores.
In between records, the 69-year-old evoked laughter from his interaction with the crowd and promised to return to Leigh in the future.
Earlier in the night, former Westlife singer Shane Filan kicked off the night's entertainment with a mix of his own tracks, hits from his days with the Irish band, as well as other popular songs from mainstream artists.
Outside the stadium, people without tickets soaked up the atmosphere and partied on the road as the Grammy and Oscar-winning legend took control of the microphone.
