A PROJECT which aims to give young people a voice has arrived in Leigh.
The Reclaim Project, which has run 20 programmes in Greater Manchester, gives young people a base to share views and promote the area.
Girls from Bedford High School, Lowton CE High School and Westleigh High School aged between 12 and 14 went to Leigh town centre on Friday to share their manifesto which includes fighting sexism, racism and homophobia.
The project also calls for a better post 16 education for young people and to make empty spaces more useful.
The pupils handed out flyers about their manifesto, named a feministo, to people and businesses before presenting it in front of Leigh MP Jo Platt, Cllr Paula Wakefield and Wigan borough mayor Cllr Sue Greensmith.
The group will formally present their manifesto, in a stakeholders event at The Turnpike Gallery on July 24.
Several community groups and businesses have been invited to discuss the manifesto, show support and look for ways about how they can support the girls work.
