A DRINK driver has been handed a curfew after being more than three times over the limit behind the wheel.

Ronald Brown, of South Lane, Astley, breathalysed a reading of 111 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when he was stopped by police on Upper George Street in Tyldesley on May 23. The legal limit is 35.

The 53-year-old has been ordered to follow a four-month curfew, disqualified from driving for 28 months and complete a six-month alcohol treatment requirement.

Brown, who was sentenced at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, must pay an £85 victim services surcharge fee of £85 and court costs of £85.
