AN eight-year-old boy is celebrating after being awarded badge possible for a beaver scout.
Finbar Tighe, from Atherton, joined the 5th Tyldesley Beavers in June 2016 at the age of six and has gone on earn 45 badges for his efforts after attending nearly all of the group's activities.
He has taken part in almost every evening session, trip, camp and sleepover organised by beaver leaders.
Hardworking Finbar has earned 22 activity badges, 15 staged activity badges, six challenge badges and one lodge leader stripes.
He achieved the highest level in getting the staged activity badges and lodge leader stripes.
In addition to these achievements Finbar, has been presented with the Chief Scout Bronze Award, the most prestigious accolade that a beaver scout can be given.
Along the way, he has had the experience of climbing, caving, hiking, skiing and water zorbing among other activities.
Finbar has spent 12 nights away with the Beaver Scouts of 5th Tyldesley which including staying at Legoland Manchester, a night at the Manchester Museum and other nights at different camps.
He was part of a team of six beavers who represented the group at the Lilford District Cooking Competition when they finished first at district level.
They then went on to represent the colony at the Greater Manchester West's County Cooking Competition where they were runners-up.
Finbar was inspired by Greater Manchester West County Explorer Scout Troy Wood, who visited 5th Tyldesley Beavers to tell the group how he was awarded his badges.
