TWO members of Tyldesley’s Royal British Legion branch have represented their town in a pilgrimage of Remembrance to a First World War battlefield.
Standard bearer Stephen Burke and wreath layer Keith Stott took part in the Great Pilgrimage 90 (GP90) with around 2,200 people in attendance.
It involved a march through Ypres to the Commonwealth War Grave Commission’s Menin Gate Memorial.
Stephen and Keith toured battlefields and cemeteries visited in the first tour organised by the Royal British Legion in 1928 where 11,000 attended to bear their branch standards and wreaths.
They also laid messages given to them by families and organisations from the borough.
