PERMISSION is being sought to create six flats on Duke Street in St Helens town centre.

An application submitted to the council is seeking to change the use of existing offices and two existing flats into six flats, along with a two-storey rear extension and external alterations to a back yard to provide two car parking spaces.

Plans relate to 131-135 Duke Street and state the "existing site comprises the end three houses of a row of traditional terraced properties".

If passed, upon completion of the development, the applicant, namely Hardshaw Developments Ltd, would retain ownership of the flats and they "will all be offered for rent on the open market".
